Recognize the Signs

Neuropathy & Nerve Pain Symptoms

Whether your nerve pain originates from peripheral neuropathy, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), nerve pain after neck or back surgery, or a pinched nerve in your spine, these symptoms aren't something to push through. They're signals that nerve damage needs attention. The good news? Every one of these is treatable.

Electric Shocks

Sharp Nerve Pain

Sudden, shooting electrical sensations that radiate through your arms & hands, legs & feet, or down your neck and spine. Whether caused by a compressed nerve in the cervical or lumbar spine, peripheral neuropathy, or complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), these unpredictable jolts of nerve pain can strike without warning, making even gentle touch or movement unbearable.

Constant Fire Feeling

Burning Sensation

An intense burning or scalding nerve pain in your extremities, neck, or back that never goes away. Your arms & legs feel like they're on fire, or a searing heat runs along your spine. This persistent burning is a hallmark of severe nerve pain, pinched nerves, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and nerve pain after neck or back surgery, that significantly impacts your quality of life and sleep.

Loss of Sensation

Numbness & Tingling

Progressive loss of feeling in your hands, feet, or radiating from your neck and back into your arms and legs. Often caused by spinal nerve compression, peripheral neuropathy, or lingering nerve pain after spine surgery, this pins-and-needles nerve pain can cause weakness, loss of function & impaired sleep.

Allodynia & CRPS

Extreme Sensitivity

Ordinary touch becomes painful—even bedsheets, clothing, or a gentle breeze can trigger severe nerve pain across your skin, neck, back or extremities. This heightened sensitivity, called allodynia, is one of the defining features of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and can also develop after neck or back surgery, peripheral neuropathy, or compressed spinal nerves.

Nighttime Flare Ups

Pain Disrupting Sleep

Neuropathy and nerve pain symptoms that intensify at night, robbing you of restorative sleep. The burning, tingling, severe cramping and pain in your extremities, neck, or back become unbearable when you're trying to rest. This nighttime pattern is common with spinal pinched nerves, peripheral neuropathy, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and post-surgical nerve pain, creating a cycle of pain and exhaustion.

Pain That Travels

Referred & Radiating Nerve Pain

Nerve pain that doesn't stay in one place—it travels. A pinched nerve in your spine can send shooting pain up your back and into your head, triggering debilitating headaches. It can radiate into the facial distribution causing jaw, cheek, and eye pain. Or it travels downward into the hips and pelvic area, creating deep aching that's hard to pinpoint. This referred pain pattern along the trunk and spine is a hallmark of spinal nerve compression and neuropathy.

Find answers to common questions about neuropathy and nerve pain treatment

Neuropathy and nerve pain result from nerve damage or dysfunction caused by conditions including pinched or compressed nerves in the neck or back, peripheral neuropathy, chemotherapy-induced neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), or peripheral nerve injuries. Our comprehensive neuropathy evaluation helps identify the exact source of your nerve pain and develop a targeted treatment plan.

All of our procedures are performed with local anesthesia or IV sedation for your comfort to ensure the smoothest possible patient experience. We prioritize your comfort and use advanced techniques to minimize any discomfort or downtime.

Results vary depending on the severity of the individual condition. Most patients experience months to years of pain relief. Procedures can be repeated in the future on an as needed basis.

Our focus is on non-surgical interventions. The vast majority of patients find significant long-term relief through our minimally invasive treatments and never require surgery. However, if surgery is indicated, we work with top surgeons and can provide appropriate referrals.

Most major insurance plans cover our interventional pain treatments. Our team will verify your benefits before treatment and help you understand your coverage. Verify my insurance

All of our procedures are outpatient with minimal to no recovery time. Most patients return to normal activities within 24 hours and are able to return to work the very next day. We'll provide specific post-procedure instructions based on your treatment.
